Replace Lost or Stolen Title in Pennsylvania
How to replace your lost title in Pennsylvania
If you lost your title or it was stolen or damaged you can replace it in Pennsylvania. You cannot buy or sell a vehicle without a title.
What you need when applying for a replacement:

- Once you complete the application you must get it notarized.
- If your title is damaged make sure to return it with the application.
- Satisfaction of lien and lienholder notarization:
- If you financed your vehicle, a lien was recorded against the vehicle and the title was originally sent to that lienholder, you cannot possess the certificate of title unless the lien is satisfied.
- Contact the lienholder, and get them to complete the lienholder notarization information on the front of the application. The signature must be notarized.
- If your title was stolen report it and submit a copy of the report with your application.
- Once you process the application the old title becomes void.
